Sounds like luminiferous aether. Ah, that's it. If space/time is a frothy
substance, then like beer as its bubbles merge and grow larger and larger
until there is no bubble any more, this explains the expansion of the
universe. Our universe is simply maturing and will eventually merge with
the whole of the universes. By golly, that'll be a very big thing. No need
for a big crunch and another big bang. We shall transcend this puny
universe, created from nothing, and become one with all. Om mani padme hum,
indeed.
