Marriage is like a deck of cards. In the beginning,
all you need is 2 hearts and a diamond. By the end,
you wish you had a club and a spade!

Well, I've been unsupervised for over two weeks now, and she returns late
this afternoon. I feel as if I've been playing two-deck solitaire for the
last half a month.

Happy New Year, youse guys.

A dozen of those dead ash trees fell, that I can see, during that storm.
Very wet and heavy snow and high winds. I won't have to cut a standing tree
next year for firewood. It's already flat on the ground. Easy pickings.
Driveway is slippery, though.

They predicted 4-6", a lot for here, for the entire week before Xmas.
We received about a half inch. But it stayed below freezing for several days so
it didn't all melt right away. And then maybe another 3/4 day
before yesterday, as the cold air moved out. Didn't see the light rain
today, but the streets have stayed wet.

5 bills in the state senate already affecting water issues; and our
outstanding congress-critters got something passed in Washington that also
affects Lake Thunderbird - I surmise it allows ripping off some Indian
reservations for drinking water for Norman.

Out West the uranium miners are squandering aquifer water for uranium
production. Yeah, that's the ticket, pollute all fresh water sources for
thousands of years. Greed knows no boundaries.

The weather-critters have consistently overestimated our rain and snow all
year long. We were scheduled for a full week of snow here, and so far have
seen none.
