Well, I've been unsupervised for over two weeks now, and she returns late
this afternoon. I feel as if I've been playing two-deck solitaire for the
last half a month.
Happy New Year, youse guys.
Wise of her to get away from the snow.
A dozen of those dead ash trees fell, that I can see, during that storm. Very
wet and heavy snow and high winds. I won't have to cut a standing tree next
year for firewood. It's already flat on the ground. Easy pickings. Driveway
is slippery, though.
They predicted 4-6", a lot for here, for the entire week before Xmas.
We received about a half inch. But it stayed below freezing for several days so
it didn't all melt right away. And then maybe another 3/4 day
before yesterday, as the cold air moved out. Didn't see the light rain
today, but the streets have stayed wet.
5 bills in the state senate already affecting water issues; and our
outstanding congress-critters got something passed in Washington that also
affects Lake Thunderbird - I surmise it allows ripping off some Indian
reservations for drinking water for Norman.
