Wow! Did that ever make me feel good! The slideshow rocked.

Speaking of demographics.... I hope you got a chance to compare the two
audiences last night. The McCormack Center's huge crowd was packed in
shoulder to shoulder, and as the cameras panned the group you saw a sea of
diverse Americans united in common purpose. Women, men, young, old, every
ethnic group, every mix of groups, thin, fat, but all happy, delirious in
joy. In the cave of Republican Remorse you saw a small pool of old white
guys. I couldn't see a person of color in the entire room. Romney rose to
the occasion and gave a gracious concession speech. Where was that guy the
last 7 years he was running for President? I've sat through many wasted
elections, chances thrown away, but this was miserable to watch.

No, the lie is not a winning strategy. No, pitting the rich against the
poor isn't a winning strategy. No, denying multiculturalism in America is
not a winning strategy. No, domination of women by men isn't a winning
strategy. The Koch brothers and Rove made no difference at all. Time to
rethink the whole thing, Republicans. A little less hatred, a little more
concern for all of us. Please. Americans don't want to elect a "boss" as
President.

Spent enough hours phoning OH and PA to be pretty sure of the outcome,
but it was nice to see they couldn't hack democracy this time.

Boy, did we dodge a bullet.

A M E N !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Twice in a row Americans made the right
decision. That's almost enough to "hope". :-)

Congratulations to all of us who paid attention and voted. This is a great
victory for American democracy.

Exactly. For a year now I've been shaking my head in disbelief. You can't
lie, blatantly, unashamedly, and win elections.

I don't have to look at the ugly mug of Romney for the rest of my life. He
will disappear in the river of life, downstream, never to be seen or hear
from again. I am a happy man today.

The lesson of demographics and elections is slowly, slowly, slowly sinking
into the thick skulls of Republicans. The era of hatred and politics in
America is over. We should be able to control the more rabid Republicans
with stun guns and shock collars from now on. Defanged by their own
rhetoric, they are naked, snarling insults and lies over their backs as they
flee the light of the reality of multi-cultural America.

And there is NO going back. There are not enough angry white men in America
to win elections. It's over. That's All, Folks!

The GOP strategy of prolonging the recession, restricting the voter roles,
and lavishly funding negative ads, plus the quiet and overt complicity of
the media moguls were not enough to repeal the New Deal.

I don't get it. We could provide cradle to grave full health insurance,
eyes and teeth, preventative, with single-payer funding through our tax
system. Just do it. The savings would be immense. Then we could go on to
other things. Health and retirement, like everyone else in the civilized
world. Then we could argue about the petty issues within a party and
ideological context. Some things are too important to be derailed by
lizard-brain thinking of conservatives.

The next two years before the next Congressional elections will be
educational, at least for the rest of us, and fun to watch. Conservatives
seem denied the benefit of education by their misfiring brain cells. What
will the case be that they will argue in two years? What can conservatives
possibly say that will make them appear fit for public office again?
Abortion? Mexicans? Toll roads? Jobs? Union busting? Teacher bashing?
Clean coal and clean tar sands crude? Crusade against Jihad? We are
familiar with the list, but it is incumbent upon them to expand the list, to
perhaps include more sprinkles, unicorns, Hello Kitty, and the Second
Coming? Very little, actually nothing at all, in their platform this time
suggested sanity or decency. What could they possibly add to that miserable
list of hate-thought that would convince me, or any other American, to
follow them down their path? Repeal of child-labor laws? Mandatory travel
permits? Implanted chips? War with Iran?

There is nothing there.

I had my routine dental checkup today, and one of the ladies in the office
was wearing all black, mourning Romney's loss. Seriously. It was all I
could do to not laugh in her face, poke her in the eye, and give her a
wedgie.

Back to work with me. I'll go laugh in the woods alone. :-)

Reed has to hold the caucus together. It's time for brutal retribution
against turncoats, not feel-good weakness. We can smash them flat if we
confront the self-interest of political corruption, but alas, it looks
rotten to the core.

I just fixed my recalcitrant keyboard ($100 plus tax) by hitting it as hard
as I could. Now it types right. I propose the same tactics in the Senate.
If you want to use the name "Democrat" act like a Democrat.

This weakness, real or falsely perceived, has bedeviled Democrats since
Vietnam. Enough. Next caucus the main dish must be Blue Dog stew.
