Please, don't make me think of ice. It rained here for 12 hours yesterday.
It was one of those light sprinkles at temperatures in the 32 to 34 range
but with the ground frozen. Then, when the rain stopped, the temperature
dropped to 0. Had a tough time walking up my driveway to mail box wearing
spikes. I estimate the glaze to be about 3/8 thick.

Is a January rain even legal in Minnesota? I don't thinks so.

We haven't even had snow yet.
Winter is supposed to be arriving any minute, but we've heard that before.

We can do without the ice.

95% of our snow is melted. A little rain, but mostly 50 degree weather and
40 mph winds. This ends in a couple of days. The Jet Stream is all the way
down to the Gulf. Nothing but gravel in the driveway. Dozens of dead ash
trees crashed to the ground. Easy firewood for next year.

I suppose the sled races are a non-starter.
How about the second out-door sport, filling sandbags?
Maybe not that either, with water levels so low all over.

Gotta show that to the Chinese guy in the Edlin Go group who
thinks we all should absorb more Chinese culture by reading
Sun Tzu.

Ah, yes, a better match. On Dish they run a promo for old episodes of
Roseanne. Her husband asks, "Have you ever regretted marrying me?"
Roseanne replies, "Every day of my life!"

50 crows fighting over our little pile of orange peels, potato skins, and
the like atop the compost pile. There's something you don't see every day.
